Frequently Asked Questons (FAQ's)

How long do carrots take to steam?

Carrots take between 5-15 minutes to steam.  This depends on the size of the carrot pieces. You'll know they are done when a fork easily slides into the carrot. (Don't burn yourself).

How can I steam carrots without a steamer?

While it is an inexpensive kitchen gadget you don't have to run out and buy one for this recipe.  If you have a heat resistant colander, strainer, or any other item that will allow the steam to pass through, it will work fine.

Is it better to boil or steam carrots?

Boiling and steaming carrots will bring about similar results and flavors but steaming does preserve some of the natural vitamins that boiling leaches out. It just depends on which you find easier or more convenient.
